forbidden iphone 12 Why?
The sale of the iPhone 12 has been banned in France since September 12, 2023. The National Agency for Frequencies (ANFR) has observed levels of electromagnetic radiation above the declared limit values in this model.
SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) is an indicator of the amount of electromagnetic energy absorbed by the human body when using the device. In France, the limit value for smartphones is set at 4 W/kg.
ANFR recorded SAR levels of up to 5.74 W/kg on the iPhone 12. This means the device is emitting stronger electromagnetic radiation than permitted.
The ANFR ordered Apple to withdraw the iPhone 12 from the French market and propose corrective measures for users of the model.
If you own an iPhone 12, you can put it in Airplane mode or use it with wired headphones or earbuds to reduce your exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
It’s also possible to ask Apple for a refund or repair of your device.
